Spark amp drum machine8/11/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() It does not end there: The app can be controlled via voice commands. Based on what is played on the guitar, the generator watches and learns your playing style to create bass and drums for you to play along with. In addition, Positive Grid App includes a feature called Smart Jam, which acts as an automated backing track generator. It must be said that this system works much better than its alternative Fender Songs, which only works on Apple devices. With its Auto Chords feature, it displays the chords played in the desired song.Īny song can be picked from YouTube, Apple Music, or Spotify, and the connected app demonstrates the chords on the interface. The first aspect of Positive Grid Spark 40 that catches the eye is its new Spark system, which allows beginners to practice and explore new ways to learn songs and techniques. Today, Positive Grid’s team behind these innovations consists of sound designers, programmers, electrical engineers, industrial designers, scientists, and virtuoso musicians. With all of their technologies compatible with major platforms, Positive Grid allows music creators to experiment and explore new approaches. Connecting with music makers love and frequently use, the company makes new tones accessible to everyone. Today, Positive Grid offers many innovative tools for music creation, from free mobile apps and advanced sound design programs to intelligent, connected effect pedals and high-quality amplifiers. This new experience with simple apps encouraged many beginner guitarists to progress faster and have fun along the way with much more versatility and playing options. They tried to combine mobile technologies with innovative sound and interface designs, leading them to introduce a new music creation experience. Pairing the SD30i with one of Mooer’s GTRS guitars, meanwhile, offers the tempting proposition of a cableless setup without the use of a wireless pack.Founded in 2013, Positive Grid consisted of only a few people with a big dream of changing the world of amplifiers. To get the same cable-free power from the Spark range, you have to go down to the 10-watt Spark Mini. The SD30i has a rechargeable battery with a handy five-hour battery life. Where the Mooer could score points, however, is in its portability. The Mooer has a slightly larger range of models (Spark being limited to 33 amps and 43 effects) and has the advantage of that built-in looper – a notable omission from the Spark. On paper, the specs of both products have their ups and downs. In this instance, then, Mooer risks playing catch-up, as opposed to undercutting a more expensive product. However, in its export business, it’s used to going after the territory occupied by pricier rivals and legacy brands – rather than going head-to-head with already affordable gear. Mooer has its own reputation for budget-friendly tone tech, of course, with the likes of the P1 interface and its GTRS electric guitars (which feature built in effects and bluetooth pairing). If all of this is sounding somewhat familiar to you, well, it should, because it’s very, very similar to the Spark offering. In addition, the firm has introduced a new iAMP companion app alongside the SD30i, which allows more tailored effects editing, easy firmware updates and the ability to browse and download tones from the cloud. On top of that there are 52 amp models, 49 effects, an 80-second looper, Bluetooth audio playback, plus a built-in tuner, metronome and a drum machine. The new build takes the firm’s existing eight-inch SD30 combo amp and expands it into a Spark-like 2x 4” speaker setup that should sit nicely on a desktop. Now it’s announced a new ‘intelligent amp’, the SD30i, which appears to be designed to directly rival Positive Grid’s tech-laden practice amp, the Spark 40. Mooer Audio has made its name taking forward-thinking digital tone tech and placing it in the hands of guitarists, for a fraction of the price. ![]()
